Diddy Covers GQ’s Style Bible April Cover

From working out poolside to the backstage of EllenJohn Jeremiah Sullivan spends a day in the life with Diddy where he unexpectedly learns the keys to life from the hundreds-of-millions-dollar man himself.

Diddy is approaching the age of “give it all or retire,” and his life is coming full circle as he has now embarked another reality show, The Four. Diddy has reverted back to what made him famous in the first place: seeking undiscovered talent. And what keeps him so motivated and hungry at his age: “My culture. I want to be an authentic, unapologetic warrior for black culture and the culture of the street and how it moves.”

Diddy is at the forefront of Black Excellence, along with Jay-Z. With a new app on the way, he states while not “taking away from any other community,” it’s about supporting “black-owned and black-friendly businesses.” Black Excellence marks the “time to start charging” into a philanthropic “psychological warfare.” It’s about uplifting the community and giving this new generation the motivation to achieve their dreams.

“I think I’ve developed a mentorship-relationship with the world.”

Diddy’s most prominent attribute is his ability to be so motivating. Whether it be molding his sons, new talent on Bad Boy, or some black-owned businesses with his new app, Diddy is constantly out there inspiring. As I’m sure many do, I frequently find myself on his Instagram and Twitter whenever I need that extra push to get me motivated. I was actually on it this morning, #WhatWouldDiddyDo. While he doesn’t intend to slow down, Diddy continues to be the advisor of yet another generation.

“God sent me here to inspire.”
