#FMArtistSpotlight: G-Eazy’s Rise to Fame

G-Eazy’s Rise To Fame and His New Single

G-Eazy has risen to fame ever since he released his debut mixtape “The Endless Summer”. Since he was attending college in New Orleans, he has worked to break into the hip-hop scene. The rapper gained recognition when he was given the opportunity to open for names as big as Snoop Dogg. Ever since then, he has continued to put out music that makes its way onto the Billboard Hot 100.

The James Dean look alike has also gained the recognition of his peers from musical genres across the board. He has collaborated with artists from Cardi B to Britney Spears to Halsey. His fashion sense is heavily influenced by Elvis and his top musical inspiration is Eminem. In a 2016 interview with Larry King he said “Eminem is the greatest to ever do it“, but went on to say he doesn’t like being compared to him because that puts him in a box.

Although constantly in the spotlight, few know about the rapper’s Philanthropic side. Last year, he started a charity called “Endless Sumer fund”. Noting that he wants to give back to his hometown, the majority of the proceeds will go to the LGBTQ community along with combating mental illness. He also headlined a concert that raised $15 million to help the victims of the wildfires.

As far as his latest project goes, G-Eazy just released a song featuring fellow rapper Blueface titled West Coast. The song is an ode to where the rapper grew in Oakland, California. West Coast is available for streaming on all platforms.
