Remy Ma and Lil Kim Tell Haters to “Wake Me Up”

“Who you hugging, who you want to be loving, dipping on my Ninja Honda with Tenesha and Rhonda, what!”  At least we thought we was going to hear this when the beat dropped.  Reminiscent (no pun intended) of the sample, and instruments used in 1997’s “I Can Love You” by Mary J. Blige and ironically Lil KimRemy Ma enlisted the Queen Bee back to the beat again, with the controversial, “Wake Me Up“.

The hard-hitting track was released yesterday.  The All The Way Up femcee threw a lot of hints via InstaGram and Twitter.  Cookie crumbs for the past few days lead us up to what could be one of the most talked about tracks that released this year.  What a way to end the year off.

The instrumental is a montage of 1996’s “Queen B***h” and “I Can Love You“, both songs in which include the Queen Bee as well.  Reminisce starts off her first verse with:

If Peter Piper picked ’em, I bet you Remy ducked ’em/
I told you not to touch ’em, it’s not up for discussion!/
All my clothes is custom, straight from France..”

All in a cadence that reminds you of 1996 Lil Kim with the tenacity, boldness, grittiness and bars.  Of course a little Notorious B.I.G. influenced in the track.  With the very infectious, but yet melodic reggae-like hook by Lil Kim (via auto-tune):

Wake me up, mmm, when the mornin’ come
You b****es ain’t humble ‘nough
Mmm, when the mornin’ come
Mmm, when the mornin’ come!
Wake me up, mmm, when the mornin’ come
Mmm, when the mornin’ come
Mmm, when the mornin’ come
These [email protected]$$ b****es is done
So wake me up early!”

Different references in the song regarding “[email protected]$$ b****es” makes the song controversial.  Sources say  its aimed at Remy and Lil Kim’s rival, Nicki Minaj.  You be the judge!
