Tales Episode1 Review: How does it Feel?

The first episode of Irv Gotti’s Tales was nothing less than incredible.  From beginning to end the first episode never lost its appeal and kept your eyes glued to the television and waiting to see what would happen next. The first episode titled “F**k Tha Police” using the song made by the legendary N.W.A as its muse displaying racial tensions between police and minorities.

So THAT happened 👀 What y'all thinkin' so far?! #TalesOnBET

Irv Gotti the creative genius flipped and reversed the roles, showing what would happen if white privilege is taken away and having to deal with things that the average African-American deals with daily. The episode starts with Jaden Jenkins (Parker Sack) a white teenager being harassed and wrongfully shot by two African –American cops (Travis Love, Tyrin Turner) who use the widely known excuse that they thought the suspect had a weapon, unbeknownst to the two cops the episodes main character Brody(Matthew Noszka) was a witness to the whole ordeal. Being fed up with the treatment of white people by the cops Brody steps up to be a witness much to the dismay of his neighbors and his brother Troy (Chet Hanks). Much like in black neighborhoods snitching is frowned upon in the fictional Tales neighborhood called the “Jungle”. Not going to give too much of the episode away because it’s a must see!

In the episode you see Caucasians harassed by African American cops, beaten, talked down to and treated as if they were nothing. The acting and story-line is so good as an African-American you can find yourself feeling sympathy for the white characters and having to remind yourself that this is what really happens to African-Americans on a daily basis. Boris Kodjoe, Clifton Powell also have major roles and the first episode and you can even catch Irv Gotti playing the role as a judge in the episode. This first episode give’s a taste of what it would look like if the shoe was on the other foot; how does it feel?
