21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s sequel collab, ‘Savage Mode II,’ made for one of 2020’s most fun albums. Good news! The fun is far from over! The pair just dropped the music video for one of the biggest hits off the album, “Brand New Draco.”
Inspired by a couple of his stock-based bars, the video exhibits the pair strolling through Wall Street buildings as the stock market collapses. While the hedge fund managers in the video commit suicide, 21 and Metro keep raking in the profits. They sit in a lavish office area, calling the shots and printing money by the stack.
A creative twist helps the musical flair resonate
The music video is interrupted by an infomercial, advertising $DRCO stocks and bonds. Multiple testimonials vouch for the financial benefits the service brought them, testimonials that include cameos by DJ Khaled and Shaq. It’s a charming little segment that disrupts expectations before getting right back to the song.
The SWAT team, shown throughout the video, finally locates 21 and Metro’s office, but by the time they get there, the pair of savages have long escaped. Overall, it’s a well-crafted video impressively directed by the artist Leff of Silver Spoon Film.
21 Savage continues to achieve all over the Hip-Hop world. Beyond his collabs with Metro, his Grammy-nominated solo effort and smoking hot music videos, he’s running the game. His incredible feature on J. Cole’s “My Life” has yielded him a spot on Cole’s tour this fall. With that, his feature verse on Pop Smoke’s “Bout a Million,” which dropped today, proves that his upward trajectory remains constant. Metro Boomin, as we all know, is already always killing it without worry.
