The Return of Lil Uzi Vert
Breaking news about Lil Uzi coming back to the music scene? We’ve got it all right here. It was pretty hard to believe that Lil Uzi would be out of the music game for good. The rapper announced his retirement via Instagram stories. He seemed pretty adamant about his stance. This meant the long-awaited follow-up to Luv is Rage 2, Eternal Awake, would be no more, and that is a hard pill to swallow. This all came from issues with Uzi’s label but the Philly rapper now appears on Roc Nation’s website’s artist management roster.
Interestingly enough, Migos took to Twitter hinting at Uzi’s music revival. Quavo hinted at yet another collaboration between Migos and Uzi dropping sometime this year writing, “Migos x Uzi 2k19. Jus got off the phone.”
Uzi drops new music
Lil Uzi Vert quietly came out of retirement by dropping “Free Uzi,” , his first music release of the year. Allegedly, Uzi leaked the unofficial song himself. The new single, “Free Uzi,” is a three-minute Uzi frenzy. The track’s beat is the same one used for G Herbo‘s 2012 song “Gangway.” The beat’s fast nature matches this newer, high pitched Uzi perfectly. The song arrived with an accompanying video on YouTube. The fashion in the visual is definitely eye-catching with Uzi flexing highlighter-yellow sneakers and his bedazzled pendants. We’re even able to get a peek at this new dread-less Uzi,although he sports a hat throughout the video.
Since its release, the song is no longer available on Apple Music and Tidal due to reported “licensing issues and copyright concerns.” It does, however, remain on Soundcloud and Youtube.
