Schoolboy Q teased on social media about dropping new music. He finally delivered, releasing a new track. The single dropped midnight on Thursday (March 14). Titled “Numb Numb Juice” the song is just under two minutes and is likely to be added to his upcoming album. Q’s Twitter bio currently reads: “NEW ALBUM COMING SOON.”
The music video for the song dropped hours after the track hit the internet. The video is directed by Dave Free and Jack Begert. It features a cameo from Tyler, the Creator. The visuals show different clips of the rapper riding through California in his whip, stunting through a decked out mansion and hitting several blunts.
Keeping up with Q
Schoolboy’s most recent studio album, 2016’s Blank Face LP, debuted at No.2 on the Billboard charts. The project had features from Kanye West, Jadakiss, E-40, Miguel and others. “Numb Numb Juice” starts the next phase of Schoolboy’s career. In September, he delayed his album. He told fans he didn’t “feel right putting out an album” after the death of his close friend and collaborator, Mac Miller.
Last year, he featured on 21 Savage’s i am > i was and joined artists Kendrick, SZA, Jay Rock, and others for the Championship Tour. He also collaborated with Kamaiyah (“Addicted to Ballin’”), DJ Esco (“Code of Honor”), and others during his break. Now, Q is back at it. We can expect a new project drop this year.
