Ashlee Bankz is from Flossmoor, IL, a south suburb of Chicago. She describes herself quite simply, and adequately “dope as f***”.
The femcee raps from the perspective of a young person trying to make it through the struggle. Bankz is not a typical suburban kid and has been through rough patches, and tests. However, she expresses how blessed she is to have an opportunity at making music and fulfill her dreams as an artist. Bankz rhymes about the harsh realities many young people in Chicago are faced with everyday, yet they continue to remain strong.
Ashlee Bankz has spent years perfecting her craft and releasing new music, but nothing quite spoke to her fans like her 2017 single, “I Called You”. The single drew from her personal experiences and became a hit. “I Called You” was a big plus to her career. This hit single put Bankz into rooms and studios with industry majors, coverage in big publications, and plays in major U.S. markets, such as her hometown radio staple WGCI. Having those eyes and ears on music landed her an invitation to perform at Coachella, SXSW, A3C, and more.
Bankz is not only a trendsetter, but an overall talent, as she writes, engineers, and produces all herself. Ashlee Bankz has her foot on the gas with no plans on slowing down. She’s treating the studio as her second home and is ready to take the world by storm. Check out her latest project titled, “Big Boss” on YouTube below.
