Jay-Z, Tina Turner, and LL Cool J. receive Legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Honor!

On Wednesday, May 12th, press releases broke the news that Jay-Z, Tina Turner, and LL will join the rank of the greatest music legends in history as Rock and Roll Hall of Famers. You heard it right here! “Hova,” “Queen Tina,” and “Uncle L.” will receive induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. And, for this group of artists, the recognition is long overdue.

These three powerhouse artists are supernovas in the music industry.

Their contributions are explosive. Furthermore, with the multiple awards, recognitions, and honors they have amassed, the imprint they are leaving is undeniably massive. They have broken down doors and commanded that they be seen, their voices heard, and their presence felt.  They are royalty in the hip-hop community and giants in the music industry.  And now they are receiving their just due as bonafide legends.

News outlets report that Jay-Z and Tina Turner will receive this honor due to stellar performances throughout their career. Without a doubt, whatever stage they placed their feet on, they brought down the house.  Now, for “Queen Tina,” this is her second induction. However, for Jay-Z, it is his first time as an inductee. Nevertheless, reportedly, he will be the first living solo rapper to be inducted. He joins posthumous inductees, hip-hop masters, Tupac Shakur, and The Notorious B.I.G. And amazingly, “Hova” receives this honor only after one appearance on the ballot.

While LL Cool J is not a member of the primary six inductees, he will receive an honorary induction. And, in addition to his induction, the “Ladies Love Cool James” hip-hop phenom will also receive the Musical Excellence Award alongside Billy Preston and Randy Rhoads. Trust me; this is an honor he is well-deserving of, especially given his six nominations since 2010.

The body of work of these artists speaks for itself.

Nevertheless, this historical honor cements their status in music history. Fans will forever memorialize them as more than great performers and artists but legends. While no awards are needed to recognize their brilliance, this award confirms and celebrates what the masses already knew.  As “Jigga” penned, they set the “Blueprint” for all of us to follow with their work ethic and talent. They are, as Tina once sang “Simply the Best!”  And conclusively,  in the words of LL,  they are undeniably the “Greatest of all time, and that’s all real!”

With that said, the October 30th Induction Ceremony in Cleveland Ohio will definitively be one for the history books.
