Lil Wayne and Rich the Kid Unite for New Album
Lil Wayne and Rich the Kid has teamed up to bring us a new album Trust Fund Babies. The album dropped earlier today, a month after Young Money president Mack Maine shared that Lil Wayne had plans to put out three new projects. However, the collaboration with Rich the Kid was unexpected, but a treat for the fans. This album marks Lil Wayne’s first project since Funeral, which dropped in January of 2020. The rappers introduced the album with the “Feelin’ Like Tunechi” music video.
The Album
The highly anticipated album is a mixture of new school and old school. It consists of 10 songs, that includes a feature from rapper YG. We learned that Lil Wayne was actually the one that reached out to Rich the Kid, and asked him to join him on the album. Wayne said that the two of them have been rocking for years. Although this is their first collaboration ever, the two of them managed to hold the album down with only one feature from one other artist. Together they brought the heat, and the fans couldn’t be happier.
Before the release of his album, Lil Wayne was recently in the news for revealing shocking details about his childhood. He opened up about his mental health, which he struggle with from the age of 12. It was at that age that Lil Wayne attempted suicide. In the Uncomfortable Conversation series, he shared that he took his mother’s gun, placed it to his chest, and pulled the trigger. He said that the policed later found him. He credits one of those officers for saving his life. You can read more on that story here.
