Going after the artist formerly known as Kanye Omari West can be futile. The enigmatic Ye refuses to take any criticism from anyone and is inhumanely aloof. That being said, you’re free to try. Chris Brown took another shot at Ye last night, in fact.
Ye’s Yen Hairstyle?
For a few days now, new pictures of Ye have been floating around social media. Nothing new there, but these new ones are a bit different. Namely, they show Ye with an…interesting new hairstyle.

Some say the haircut represents “¥,” the symbol for the Chinese yen currency. Sure, let’s go with that. Evidently, Brown didn’t buy that. Yesterday (Tuesday, October 19), Breezy uploaded a post to his Instagram story with the photo above, writing:
“He asked the barbour for the f****d up worldwide fade. N***** wanna make ‘what the f**k’ in style. He got the punishment haircut.”
Brown wasn’t finished. He also made more posts, one with the former Mr. West having his hair cut by soul legend Stevie Wonder (“N**** just wanted a lineup.”). Another had just the wooden-log emoji with the caption, “Bro give me the wood chipper bowl fade.” No mercy was forthcoming from Breezy.
And he wasn’t the only one with something to say. Everyone’s a critic, and Twitter is a far-reaching critical hivemind. So, users naturally gave their own slew of roasts.
Brown certainly has his reasons to go after Ye. He found himself deleted off of DONDA last month after running his mouth at Ye. Brown also referred to Ye as “a whole hoe” and immediately removed from the “New Again” track. Some thought it was a rash move, but is it any more rash than a sudden name change? As of now, Kanye Omari West is officially, legally, just Ye, his longtime nickname.
