Today a Memphis Councilman is speaking out and proposing a curfew following the fatal shooting of Young Dolph.
Memphis is in a state of mourning following the senseless shooting of Young Dolph. And rising tensions and increasing gun violence are leading officials such as Councilman J. B. Smiley to act.
Woeful Tragedy!
Young Dolph was the victim of a fatal shooting while visiting a local bakery shop in Memphis yesterday.
Sadly, the young rapper lost his life on a typical outing to Makeda, which he frequents while in his hometown. And residents are still in shock.
Rumors Post Young Dolph’s Shooting.
According to dailyusmagazine.com, the rumor mill has been churning since the incident.
As the source notes,
“Rumors began to circulate that his [Young Dolph’s] known enemy Yo Gotti had been targeted.”
But apparently, this was not the only rumor circulating, leading the police to issue an official statement.
The Councilman’s Motive.
The heat is on, and hearts are heavy. And people across the board are showing weariness of the current climate.
According to dailyusmagazine.com, the councilman is reported as stating,
“To be very honest and transparent, I am growing tired of issuing statements that speak to or highlight crime in our communities.”
And so up for proposition is the imposition of a curfew to thwart some of the violence.
In a public statement, the councilman revealed his sentiments and impetus.
“I’m grieving like every other Memphian right now. Yet another tragedy, yet another murder due to senseless gun violence.”

Young Dolph’s case is still under investigation. But according to fox13memphis.com, two suspects have been identified. And the photos are currently in circulation on Twitter.
“… FOX13 confirmed their validity with three independent law enforcement sources.”
Here is hoping things are brought to a resolution quickly and justice is swift.
So today, our hearts once again go out to the citizens of Memphis and the family of Young Dolph (Aldoph Robert Thorton Jr.).
