Kanye has settled a two year long lawsuit over a sample he used in his track “Bound 2” track. Ricky Spicer, a former singer of the 60s group The Ponderosa Twins Plus One, filed a lawsuit against West, Roc-A-Fella Records, Universal Music Group and Island Def Jam Music in December 2013.
Spicer claims West sampled the group’s song titled “Bound” without permission. According to the lawsuit, Spicer sings “bound to fall in love” through out the original song and that snippet was eventually sampled in West’s hit song. The terms of the settlement are currently confidential.
West hasn’t let these legal troubles hold him back. He is currently working on his new LP “Swish” and said that the album is “80 percent done,” but there is no release date as of yet.
