It seems Mike Dimes is about to spend some time on the road. After dropping his debut album In Dimes We Trust on Tuesday, the Texas rapper announced he will be on three separate tours from the end of March all the way until June.
Dimes will start by headlining his own local Who Is Mike Dimes? Tour. The Backroom artist will start off at SXSW on March 16 and then head to El Paso, Dallas, and Houston. From there, Dimes will join up with Denzel Curry for his Melt My Eyez Tour which will take him through April.
The tour will head through Salt Lake City, Seattle, Vancouver, and Portland before finishing in Los Angeles. With no break, Dimes will then join Earthgang on a 25 date tour for their latest album GHETTO GODS.
This last tour will take Dimes through Chicago, Detroit, New York City, Philadelphia, Toronto, Cleveland, Tampa, New Orleans, and Oklahoma City. The last stop on the tour will be Earthgang’s hometown of Atlanta on June 18.
To build anticipation, the 21-year-old rapper released his album In Dimes We Trust, with features from Duke Deuce and ZAY3k. The album is Dimes’ first project since 2021’s DLOG, which featured one of his breakout tracks in MY STORY. Dimes also released the music video to his hit single HOME in February, which was directed by Simon Chisalow.
The rise of Mike Dimes
Mike Dimes has also been steadily building buzz off of the strength of singles such as NO TRENDS and WISS. The San Antonio native established himself at 17 with the support of his friends, having moved around as a military child.
After nearly quitting music, Dimes’ single MY STORY took off after its March 2021 release. The track gained 9 million streams on Spotify, and after gaining traction on TikTok, Dimes now has 2 billion views on the platform.
With his streams going up by the end of 2021, and the release of his debut album, Dimes is beginning to receive praise on the national scale.
