Playboi Carti may be remembered for more than the hit tracks “Sky” and “Magnolia” after his latest performance at the Wireless Festival in London. Apparently, Carti fell off the stage at the festival in front of a crowd of hundreds of fans and famous peers. Other performers included J. Cole, BIA, ASAP Rocky, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown, among others. People often refer to Wireless, a rap music festival owned by Live Nation, as the Coachella of London.
Playboi Carti’s distinguished himself for his wild and high-energy performances, but he grew a little caught up in his set. He ran backwards enthusiastically a couple times, then he fell right off the stage. Immediately, he rose again to his feet and ran through the open space in the crowd. Fans cheered and clicked their cellphones to capture the indelible moment.
Fans didn’t have anything bad to say about Carti’s fall. Instead, they went on about how it looked so graceful and almost “meant.” “it’s giving trap door,” @nostalgic_love_ on tweeted, commenting on one of the video posts of the fall.
If Carti meant to do it, he definitely won fans’ attention. Some even brag on Carti about how he got up with ease, like the fall didn’t even occur. Known as he is for his hype energy and stage presence, he did not disappoint on those virtues at Wireless.
Whether he became too hyped mid-performance or knew creating something memorable would make news, Carti’s set at Wireless stood out for its showmanship.
