Ne-Yo, the renowned R&B singer, and songwriter, is up against the IRS and has found himself in a legal predicament due to his $3,166,811.68 million tax debt. The multi-talented artist, known for his soulful vocals and chart-topping hits, is now facing challenges with the Internal Revenue Service over unpaid taxes. It has been reported that Ne-Yo owes a substantial amount in back taxes, leading to the scrutiny of his financial affairs.
The IRS has reportedly filed liens against him and his ex-wife, Crystal Renay, for unpaid taxes, indicating the seriousness of the situation. On top of the IRS, the company Crowe Custom Countertops has also slapped a lien on the former couple for work that was completely at their home in Alpharetta, Georgia. But wait, the liens don’t stop there. The federal lien and private lien come on the heels of another one that was filed by the state of Georgia for taxes totaling more than $4,000.
Ne-Yo Up Against The IRS Isn’t His Only Problem
The Internal Revenue Service isn’t the only entity Ne-Yo is dishing coin out to. The songwriter recently paid his ex $2.000.000 thanks to their divorce settlement in February. In addition to the $2.000.000, Renay will get one of their multiple Georgia homes while the singer covers over $20,000 of her moving expenses. While Ne-Yo is up against the IRS, he is also responsible for forking up $12,000 in monthly child support, financing the former couple’s three kids’ private schooling, and $5,000 a month for alimony for at least three years. Not only is Renay walking away with alimony, but the hitmaker also purchased her a car costing roughly $150K.
To make Ne-Yo’s financial burdens worse, he is also responsible for his other children with his ex, Sade Bagnerise. However, that situation is a little messy. Although the entertainer acknowledges fathering Bagnerise’s older son, Braiden, he recently questioned whether her younger child, Brixton, is actually his. In May, Ne-Yo surprised Sade with a court-mandated DNA test to establish paternity before handing over more child support.
Here’s to hoping that Ne-Yo’s Champagne & Rose’s Tour with Mario and Robin Thicke yields some big-time paydays to help alleviate some of his financial burdens.
