Benny the Butcher X Drake Collaboration

It’s been proven that Griselda is the label that never sleeps. After putting out consequent projects over the last year, fans are impatiently waiting for the rumored Benny the Butcher x Drake collaboration.

Both rappers have been teasing this match-up since 2019. In 2021, fans are still wondering if the Drake vocals are in yet.

Previously, Benny said they both completed verses for each other’s projects. On a recent visit to the Big Facts Podcast, Benny explains the delay and offers a sneak peek into what to expect. He confirmed that the song is complete, yet delayed because of timing.

“It’s a build-up thing. You can’t just throw a record like that out” said Benny.

Benny’s most recent projects have each been composed by one producer. The album ‘Burden of Proof’ was produced by Hit-Boy, and his forthcoming project ‘Plugs I Met II’ was produced by Harry Fraud. Because the Drake song wasn’t produced by either, it just wasn’t the right time to release it.

When asked if this was a “bars” record, Benny said; “Drake was talking his sh*t like he does.”

I’m curious about if we’ll get a more subdued Benny on the song or a more rugged Drake delivery. Either way, the fans say, take your time, but hurry up!
