Rap phenom Curren$y has announced that he is delaying the release of his much anticipated seventh album Half Moon Bay. The rapper made the announcement on Instagram, saying that collaborator The Alchemist wants to postpone the record. “Al wants to wait until next year y’all…. that’s my brother so I’m already in the car sliding with him on whatever he wants to do,” he wrote. “Don’t trip we got y’all covered.”  Originally scheduled to be released this Friday, December 10, a new release date for next year has not been announced.

The Alchemist

Aside from Half-Moon Bay, The Alchemist has more projects coming up. In an interview with The Needle Drop‘s Anthony Fantano, he confirmed that he is working on a soundtrack to a new film called Cycles and an appearance on Earl Sweatshirt’s new album. He will also be working with Benny The Butcher on his much-anticipated album Tana Talk 4. The producer previously released his own EP called This Thing of Ours Vol. 2 on October 8.  He had worked on Freddie Gibbs’ Grammy-nominated album Alfredo, which received critical acclaim. He also worked with Curren$y earlier in his career, including Covert Coup in 2011 and 2016’s The Carrollton Heist.

Curren$y’s Latest Projects

For the past five months, he has released a whopping six albums. Those include Highest In Charge on August 27, Matching Rolexes on September 17, Still Stoned On Ocean on October 8, Regatta on October 29 and Land Air Sea on November 29. Prior to the album releases, the rapper said he wanted to release seven projects by the end of this year. With Half Moon Bay being delayed, it will be worth the wait for fans to hear the final product. Also known as Spitta, he had teased an apparel collaboration with the New Orleans Pelicans. I’m probably not even supposed to show y’all this,” Curren$y mumbled in the tweeted video. “I probably might have to take this down might lose my Instagram like Lil Boosie or something for this.” A release date for this has not been announced.
