Dave East and Harry Fraud’s collab album, ‘HOFFA,’ comes out next Friday. Today, we get our second single from the album, ‘Uncle Ric,’ featuring none other than Benny the Butcher.

Named after East’s uncle who spent 40 years in prison, it’s a tribute to both family and criminal life. East proves himself formidable as ever and matches Benny’s energy, a challenge for most rappers. While ‘The Plugs I Met 2’ showed us that Benny is a perfect voice for Fraud’s beats, East did the same with the album’s first single, ‘Diamonds.’ Both tracks are a great look ahead at what could turn out to be one of the year’s strongest projects.
Harry Fraud the realest
With ‘HOFFA’ serving as his fourth collaboration album within six months, Harry Fraud is having a great year! In February, he teamed up with Jim Jones to drop ‘The Fraud Department‘ before putting out ‘The Plugs I Met 2‘ with Benny the Butcher just one month later. In May, he teamed up with Dark Lo to put out ‘Borrowed Time.’ Whether or not he has something else waiting for us after ‘HOFFA,’ it’s already safe to crown Fraud as one of the best producers of this year.

We can’t talk about this album without acknowledging Griselda’s influence. Even since they became huge, rappers new and old are deciding to try their hand at grittier, more serious crime rap. Jim Jones was no stranger to this before but improved greatly upon having Griselda around to influence his work. And of course, Dave East, a talented rapper who dabbled with more mainstream sounds, now has Griselda founder, Westside Gunn, curating his album. The year is just over halfway done and Griselda is already responsible for a significant portion of this year’s strongest releases.

With the way Fraud’s current hot streak and Griselda’s everlasting one, we have no doubt that Dave East will bring it. Check the tracklist here, as Benny is just one of many features to be excited about.
