Producer and meme legend Dj Khaled returns to social media. He’s releasing music with some huge names to back him up.
If It’s Not Broke, Don’t Fix It
Dj Khaled currently works on the 13th studio album, following 2021’s “Khaled Khaled.” That album garnered several hits for the Florida native, including the “Popstar” feature with Drake, which reached #3 on the Billboard US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Khaled certainly has a lot of expectations to live up to, but he’s recruited several stars for help already.
Khaled has been slowly revealing features throughout the weeks. One notable example is Drake last Tuesday (May 24). A video of Khaled and his son Asahd was posted, in which the young boy replies, “Daddy, Drake did” when told, “they don’t believe in us.”
“VOCALS BEEN IN!! @asahdkhaled you right!! Stay tuned @ for more updates There’s NO Summer and there’s NO year without Khaled I’m not taking no talk back! @wethebestmusic ALBUM MODE , it’s SPECIAL,” the caption reads.
Dj Khaled posted another album hint on Instagram, also alluding to Drake. This time, it was a video of Khaled enjoying his own 2013 hit “No New Friends” while riding a boat. “ALBUM MODE, it’s SPECIAL CHUNES PON YOUR BOMBOCLAAAAT!” he typed up.
Khaled Working Hard Or Hardly Working
On Wednesday (May 25), Khaled kept up the trend with another Instagram video. Like the previous teaser, it starts with the “I’m The One” artist lamenting over people who didn’t “believe in us” before stating, “Skilli did.” He subsequently turned the camera to Jamaican rapper Skillibeng. The 25-year-old recently got a huge boost stateside and a nod from G Herbo with his 2007 song “Crocodile Teeth.” The hip-hop vet followed this up with a couple more posts of him and Skilli working in the studio and enjoying Jamaican cuisine. Presumably, these photos were taken during the process for this upcoming album.
This past weekend, the Miami DJ uploaded yet another album teaser. “They ain’t believe in us,” he typed. “@lilbaby did!!!!!! Lil baby did !!!!!!!!!!!!! UP. Album mode it’s special, VERY SPECIAL!” The respective photo set features several shots of Khaled and Baby working in the studio.
Following all the album and sly feature hints, DJ Khaled has also posted more of his signature inspirational videos. This is another tell-tale sign the “Do You Mind” artist is gearing up for a new album.
“They ain’t believe in us…you played yourself,” he said in a video this past Sunday (May 29). “To succeed, you must believe. They ain’t believe in us…God did”.
An All-Star Cast
The previous week (May 17), a few other artists were unveiled. Namely, Future appeared on Khaled’s Instagram, working hard in the studio.
“Winners know to win is to WIN MORE!” he wrote. “@future Straight off them Number 1s right back in to the Studio!! KHALED and @future ANTHEMS WIT A (S ) #FANLUV I’m giving yall a peek into this session but believe me when i tell you – WE THE BEST WE THE BIGGEST” Khaled is, of course, referring to Future’s latest album “I Never Liked You” topping the Billboard Hot 200. This lands the Lay Up rapper his eighth no 1 album.
In addition to this, DJ Khaled also posted 21 Savage recently. The pair both attended last week’s Miami Heat/ Boston Celtics game. The “A Lot” rapper made sure to show off his impressive wrists during the quick link-up.
He also recently posted some shots of 21 in the studio working on a song.
This upcoming album is star-studded indeed. Dj Khaled is known for his massive circle of industry friends and ability to secure hot names for a project, so keep your eyes peeled.
