Fivio Foreign is starting his year off with a bang following a successful 2021.
Fivio Takes The NY Drill Crown
With features on some of the industry’s most excellent like Kanye or Drake and several entries in Billboard Hot 100, it’s safe to say Fivio Foreign is leading. Leading the New York drill pack.
The ‘Big Drip’ artist has big plans for 2022 and also recently started with teasing a brand new single.
The RnB classic ‘Say My Name’ by Destiny’s Child can be heard on the Fivio track of the same name. In a video posted to his Instagram story this past Saturday (Dec.1), the 31-year-old rapper claims “2022 belongs to me.”
“When I drop Say My Name, I don’t care who drop. Say My Name is the hottest song of 2022 period.” Fivio has been teasing the single for months now, posting a snippet on TikTok in October and another last week. He also discussed the sampling process with HotNewHipHop in November. Rumors are still flying as to who the guest vocalist is. Coi Leray and Queen Naija, two top contenders in the tale, also appeared in the comments of an IG post teasing the single. They left a devil emoji and a smirking emoji, respectively.
An exciting 2022
With the release of his debut album B.I.B.L.E. on the horizon, the Brooklyn native is about to have a busy year. He’s previously revealed that legendary rapper and producer Kanye West will have a hand in the beat-making on the record.
Fivio and Kanye seem to have an excellent working relationship. He also recently spoke with Power 106 and recounted a story in which Kanye said he reminds him of fellow Brooklyn rapper Jay Z.
Along with ‘Say My Name,’ fans can expect a song featuring Harlem artist Asap Rocky on the 2022 project. Fivio revealed the song via Instagram live back in November to build hype for the album.
Fivio appears to be filming a music video with Rich the Kid and Jay Critch in addition to his album drop. There hasn’t been an official date given for the drop of B.I.B.L.E. Nonetheless, watch out for the drill rapper in 2022.
