Atlanta’s own Grammy nominated rapper, J.I.D. just reached a milestone!   His single, “Enemy” with Grammy winning group Imagine Dragons is his highest song to be on the charts ever. It’s J.I.D.’s first song in the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10.  The song is for the animated Netflix show, Arcane: League of Legends. It was released last year and is now at number 8 in the top 10 after being on the charts for months!  The song is well on its way to a billion streams.  “Enemy” is about going through life enduring all types of conflicts.  The video is pretty cool as well as the show’s creators were able to transfer J.I.D. and the Imagine Dragons into the show’s main characters in their setting.

The Forever Story

Fans are waiting for his album “The Forever Story” to drop.  It’s supposed to be released sometime this year.  Fans may be eager because of a photo that circulated online of him and Dr.Dre in the studio.  He also has been in the studio with Metro Boomin, Anderson Paak, and Cordae.  J.I.D. met Drake last year, in to which he said Drake gave him praise and suggested they work together.  He even posted a photo with the caption “Met My Scorpio brother last night, this shit sound like October fr”.  Could Drizzy be on the album?  That would be dope!

Great First Quarter J.I.D.!

J.I.D has been starting this year off strong. He dropped the “Surround Sound” video featuring 21 Savage and Baby Tate. Just like Imagine Dragons helped J.I.D. get his first Billboard Top 10 Hit, he helps Baby Tate get his first 100 hit as “Surround Sound” landed on the charts at spot 90.

He is scheduled to be at Coachella in April as well as the Dreamville Festival a few weeks before. Token and J.I.D. collaborate on Token’s “Pink is Better” album as they create a gravitating video for ‘Boom’.  He is also featured on The Cool Kids album, “Before Shit Got Weird” with 6lack on “Lightwerk”.  EarthGang’s ‘Ghetto Gods’ album came out last month and J.I.D. teamed up with J.Cole on the song “Waterboyz”. He is set to be on Denzel Curry’s new album, ‘Melt My Eyez, See Your Future’, which drops Friday.
