Jay Rush Jennings has released a new single, “On Me,” featuring Keyiara and Baby Blue Whoaaaa. We asked Jay Rush a few questions about his new single, upcoming album, and artistic legacy.
“On Me”
According to the artist, “the goal of the song was to make it sound sexy and to make it versatile…because it’s a song about lovemaking, so we wanted to hone in on that as much as possible without actually saying certain things. We try to keep it as less vulgar as possible.”

When asked whether the new single is a tribute to the older one or an attempt to step away from it, Jay Rush said that, “We definitely wanted to play off of “Love Like Honey” because it was in the sample, but at the same time we wanted to showcase my style. We had the option to put Pleasure P on it to sing, but he’s another singer, so it would have hindered what we were doing by pushing Jay Rush. We added Baby Blue instead.”
The Upcoming Album
According to Jay Rush, his album is going to be “raw, in-your-face, street soul type music.”
At the same time, the artist is trying some new, more melodic singing styles. “Usually my style was more raw, aggressive vocals,” Jay explained. “With this one, we kind of smoothed it out, a little more vocal acrobatics.”
Jay Rush Jennings also said that we should expect a few features on the upcoming record. These include Lyfe Jennings and T-Rell.
Jay Rush Jennings’s Legacy
While trying to establish his own legacy, Jay Rush is also trying to honor his brother’s, Lyfe Jennings’s.
“He’s already established his, his, um, his niche in music,” Jay Rush explained. “I’m just carrying a torch. Keeping the namesake alive while introducing Street Soul, which is my brand.”
