Kid Cudi took to Twitter on Sunday to announce that he will release at least one more album. The Cleveland native revealed that he has one more album left on his contract with Republic Records. The project will include new music for his day one fans, but won’t drop until 2024.

“I’m doing 1 more album and then I’m done w my deal and not sure what ima do after that but yeah, 1 more,” the “Burrow” rapper posted. “Won’t be next year. Keep u posted. This is all for all my fans that have been riding w me for so long.”

Kid Cudi discusses life after music

Kid Cudi previously hinted at retiring in September, teasing that his recent project Entergalactic would be his final album. He spoke to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe on his potential future after music.

“The Kid Cudi stuff, I think I want to put it on the back burner and chill out with that,” Cudder explained. “I think I want to be done with it. I think, closing the chapter on Kid Cudi.” He also explained that he was “bored of making albums” and expressed his desire to explore his other creative ideas. Cudi has ventures in fashion, as well as acting and producing.

Though Cudi discussed his desires outside of music, he also said he couldn’t see himself “never making music.” He stated that another reason he contemplated retirement was to spend more time with his 12-year-old daughter Vada.

During a recent appearance on Hot Ones, Kid Cudi also discussed the idea of switching career paths to become a kindergarten teacher.

“I just don’t know if I wanna just do music, drop albums for too much longer,” he explained. “I’m kinda nearing the end on all things Kid Cudi, I think. I’m really curious to see what else I can do. I was thinking about this, and this was like a wacky idea I had years ago, but it would be cool one day to be a kindergarten teacher.”
