As the buildup for Lil Durk‘s new album 7220 continues, the rapper dropped the fourth and final single before its release on Friday. The visual for the song, titled Golden Child, was also released on Thursday. Check out the video below.
The video sees Durk hanging with members of his OTF crew while flexing stacks of cash. To hype up the release of 7220, Durk asked fans to drop their cashapp handles on Twitter and announced his plans to give away $7,220 in bitcoin to celebrate.
7220 the album at midnight. Drop your #cashapp and #lildurk and imma give away $7,220 in #Bitcoin 🥶💰
Lyrically, Golden Child is devoid of any mention of Lil Durk’s ongoing feud with NBA YoungBoy. The beef between the two stars has heated up amidst the hype for their respective projects. Recently, rumors began to circulate that YoungBoy might sabotage Durk’s release with an album of his own on Friday.
However, the Chicago rapper announced on Instagram that anyone who wants to drop on March 11 is welcome to. Durk also included a shoutout to his friend, the late King Von. Von’s posthumous release, What It Means to be King, moved 65,000 units in its first week.
The late artist’s drop wasn’t without its own controversy, however. Youngboy seemingly attempted to sabotage Von’s release by dropping a collab with DaBaby. The track, titled BETTER THAN YOU, only moved around 30,000 units.
It’s no surprise that YoungBoy has been coming for Durk and OTF. This has been apparent since the release of his diss track I Hate YoungBoy on February 22, where he called out Durk, Von and even Gucci Mane. The track was created in response to the lead single of 7220, titled AHH HA, where Durk had words for YoungBoy and his ex-girlfriend.
Durk also dropped the tracklist for 7220 via social media on Wednesday. The album is slated to have 17 tracks and include features from Summer Walker, Gunna, Future and even country star Morgan Wallen.
