Despite just releasing his new album less than two weeks ago, Lil Durk returns with new music. In the wee hours of March 18th, Durk released a visual for the track Computer Murders after posting a clip of the song on his Instagram story with the caption, “N****s pissed me off again.”
The caption is in reference to a prior released single off his 7220 album, Pissed Me Off. Unlike Pissed Me Off which addressed members of his crew, Computer Murders seems to be speaking to his opposition. With the recent murders of OTF’s King Von and FBG’s, FBG Duck (who was allegedly murdered by OTF members per a federal indictment), provoking social media posts between the gangs have only increased.
Durk begins with taunting FBG Wooski, who survived being shot in the head while at a funeral in 2018.
Lil Durk redirects his anger at another FBG member, FBG Cash, who has been trending for posting a picture on Instagram of him posing in front of the King Von mural in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago. Durk raps:
Lil Durk doesn’t ever seem to shy away from any static, but you begin to wonder at what level of fame do outgrow local neighborhood beef? Would we even know any FBG members if no OTF member ever mentioned them? That is unknown, but what is certain is that Durk’s popularity and success has only increased alongside his opposition. Listeners appear to relish the drama depiction with the music. Unfortunately, what comes along with this drama depiction are real life losses and mourning.
