Nicki Minaj has always been known for her extravagant sense of humor. But this time, even Barbz did not expect such comedy.
This past Friday, “We Go Up” rapper treated fans to a surprise Instagram live session. During this live stream, Nicki Minaj addressed pregnancy rumors that have been flying since her appearance at this year’s Essence Fest.
Is Nicki With Child?
While reading questions on the live chat feature, one fan asked Nicki if she was expecting. Of course, this sent the chat into an immediate frenzy. The last time Nicki Minaj announced pregnancy was around two years ago. Of course, that viral July 2020 maternity shoot took the internet by storm in minutes. Before that media storm could start, Nicki quickly corrected herself and set the record straight.
“Oh wait,” she said after only a brief moment. “Did I say it wrong? I’m sorry, I think I said it wrong,” she explained. “I meant to say, ‘I’m not pregnant, I’m fat,'” the correction, while almost immediate, didn’t stop Barbz from creating false alarms all over social media. After all, one of the most famous rappers in the world making a pregnancy announcement will spread, even if it’s a false one.

Although there’s no new baby on the way, fans can still expect a new album. The album name and drop date have yet to come out, but the promotion has very much kicked off for the Queens, NY, rapper. She began the rollout with “Do we have a problem?” and “Bussin,” featuring Lil Baby. Nicki then subsequently released we go up with fivio foreign. Judging by her recent appearances at this year’s essence fest and wireless festival, this NY rapper is just getting her 2022 started.
