Prince held a Rally 4 Peace concert in Baltimore last night in honor of Freddie Grey, who died in police custody last month.
Guests were asked to wear something gray to honor Freddie Gray, but the bigger impact was made by Prince himself, who took the stage and addressed the Baltimore uprising head on:
“The system is broken. We got to fix it by building a new one right here, right now,” Prince said, according toUSA Today. “It’s going to be all right, y’all. It’s going to be all right. We’re going to figure this thing out.”
Beyoncé and Jay Z were in attendance as well as meeting with the Grey’s grieving family backstage. The Carters also posed for pictures with Lesley McSpadden (Mike Brown Jr. mother), who was shot by officer Wilson August 2014.
