Princess Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’ goes Gold on release day
Looks like Cardi B is having another kickass year! The Bodak Princess’ debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy’ has gone Gold and it’s only been out for one day. According to the RIAA in a tweet yesterday the album is already gold due to a technicality with ‘Bodak Yellow’.
To sum it up if you’re not familiar with how the music industry works, Chart Data recently noted that 10 track units equal one album sale. ‘Bodak Yellow’ went 5x multi-platinum in 2017 and was certified by the RIAA. That means ‘Invasion of Privacy’ has 500,000 units with just the strength of ‘Bodak Yellow’. Chart data also posted tweets explaining how ‘Invasion of Privacy’ went Gold:
“Bodak Yellow“ has 5m units certified by the RIAA. 10 track units= 1 album sale, the album has 500k+ units. These units will not be included in official first-week numbers.
‘Invasion of Privacy’ has 13 tracks feat artists such as: 21 savage, SZA, Chance the Rapper, Migos, and more.
I’m sure we’ll keep seeing Cardi B thrive this year! Listen to ‘Invasion of Privacy’ now.
