Tyler, The Creator is giving us his new album, ‘Call Me If You Get Lost,’ at midnight. With incredible promotion tactics, Tyler prepares us for the vibe of his album. Just yesterday, he threw in one more self-directed video for our excitement.
Tyler in the dining car
The video is called ‘Brown Sugar Salmon‘ and takes place on a lush train traveling through a beautiful setting. Tyler, dressed in his new trademark style, is sitting in a dining car reading the menu. The server addresses him as Sir Baudelaire, the new nickname he’s been donning while promoting the LP. The sketch consists of Tyler attempting to order the specials on the menu. However, the server tells him that they’ve run out of all of the food that she, for some reason, keeps offering him, causing some hilarious reactions from The Creator.
Tyler’s sketch comedy roots
Tyler truly makes the video, asking the server “are you fucking dumb?” while getting more and more frustrated by the second. OG fans of Tyler and Odd Future will remember the hilarious sketch comedy show Loiter Squad. Its truly refreshing to see that he still has it in him despite the different kind of comedy between this and a Loiter Squad skit. No matter how posh his wardrobe is or how deep his music has become, Tyler proves that he’s still his hilarious self.
The appetizers before the main course
Starting with a billboard followed by a funny video, twosingles, and now this hilarious sketch, his creativity is all over the place in the best possible way. Promotion for ‘IGOR’ was also humorous despite how serious the album was. However, we still feel comfortable assuming that this LP will be balanced between comedy and drama.
From Tyler’s ‘Side Street’ promo video
With about half of a day remaining before we have ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’ in our hands, maybe Sir Baudelaire will throw one more fun promo our way!
