Wale Announces Folarin II Release Date with New Single “Poke It Out”

Wale is on fire as he announces his seventh studio album, Folarin II, will drop on October 22, 2021. The D.C. native dropped his newest single, “Poke It Out” which features J. Cole. He had also revealed the cover art of the album. This collaboration has fans hyped since the rappers have come a long way from dissing each other in 2016.

Folarin was a mix tape filled with several collaboration, such as: Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Tiara Thomas, Scarface, Nipsey Hussle, Trinidad James, and more. Folarin II is looking like it is going to also be very collaboration heavy, with the three singles already released all featuring one or more heavy hitters.

Wale regularly releases his studio albums every two years. He had originally planned for the album to have released last summer, but that, sadly, was not able to happen due to him getting sick. Instead, he had released three singles from the project during that time. Those singles are “Angles”, “Down South”, and “Poke It Out”.

Wale’s Album

Wale had announced the album in June, shortly after releasing “Angles” featuring Chris Brown.

After announcing Folarin 2, he referred to himself as  one of the greatest. Wale has been a rapper for over 14 years and has been in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 multiple times. He frequently collaborates with other artists. Wale also frequently brags about how he thinks he is the greatest. He had claimed this again just last August.

When he had released “Poke it Out”, featuring J. Cole, on September 30, he had also announced Folarin II’s release date. The last time that Wale and long time friend J. Cole collaborated was on Wale’s “My Boy” in his 2018 EP Free Lunch. “Poke It Out” samples Q-Tip’s 1999 song “Vibrant Things.”
