Wale recently released a new project, Folarin 2. Freddie Gibbs published many Tweets later, talking about Wale taking Gibbs’s feature off the album. He started assuming he’d be on the deluxe album version or “guess on Folarin 3.” At that point, Wale came up on social media and tweeted, “Gibbs be lying…also mark want us to do a project together.”
Go get @wale new album tonight even tho he took me off it. I guess the nigga gon put me on the deluxe 🤷🏿♂️

Last December, Wale and Gibbs spent some time in the studio, possibly working on some new material. The users on Twitter also shared the Wale’s Insta stories footage of the artists working together. The footage also shows Gibbs testing the luxury car out and both artists enjoying themselves in the studio while “reminiscing.”
Wale, “This industry’s built on a lot of fake flowers” (Not about Freddie Gibbs)
Wale also gave an interview to Nadeska for Apple Music 1’s Rap Life Radio. The rapper claimed that “industry’s built on a lot of fake flowers and a lot of silent flowers.” Wale explained, “I think Westside Gunn said something like, ‘Shout out to Tyler because he gave me my flowers in public. That type of stuff goes a long way. Public perception and narratives and stuff like that.”
“Sometimes I feel like I lead the league in quiet pats on the back – sneaky praises. So it’s like, you got to give yourself them flowers and be man enough and confident enough to give your peers them too when they do well. That’s pretty much what this is about,” Wale told Nadeska.
“I give flowers to my inspirations, my OGs, my contemporaries, my peers, and myself,” the rapper also shared.
