Sunday marked the observance of Father’s Day. While many observed the day with their loved ones, Will Smith spent time celebrating fatherhood with Kevin Hart; and this episode was particularly poignant. Both superstars shifted the spotlight from their careers for a brief moment. With a bit of laughter, Smith and Hart discussed what fatherhood meant. Then, for 47 minutes, the focus was on parenting and reflection. Both were deep and introspective.

Coincidentally, Hart stars in a new film about parenting, as a single parent nonetheless. By the end of the episode, viewers got a sneak-peek into the reflective, inspiring and heartwarming film Fatherhood on Netflix. For most people, advice comes a dime a dozen, but authentic life lessons sometimes come from unexpected places. This Father’s Day episode of Red Table Talk provides fascinating insight and is well worth the watch.

Without a doubt, Smith and Hart are cultural icons. Mr. July has been a staple in the entertainment industry since the late ’80s. In 1987 he and DJ Jazzy Jeff hit the scene with the hit “Girls Ain’t Nothing but Trouble.” Will has been a fixture in the industry ever since. He brought fans the Fresh Prince, Ali, Detective Mike, and a host of other characters. He continues to show the world that he has got a bag full of talents. Not only is Smith an award-winning rap artist and actor, but also a film producer, director and screenwriter. His compadre Kevin Hart has an equally impressive credit list as a comedian, actor, film producer, author and screenwriter. But this Red Table Talk demonstrates that they are both so much more than their career credits.

Beyond their celebrity, Smith and Hart fulfill one of the most essential roles in the world: a father. Smith is an endearing father of three. Kevin Hart is a doting father of four. With that, they both certainly have the experience to drop gems.
