#FMSpotlight: HUSH FORTE – “FAR AWAY” (Listen)

Florida-based musician HUSH FORTE has officially dropped a banger titled “FAR AWAY.” Comprising nostalgic hip-hop/R&B vibes with a wobbly bassline, and funky arrangements — HUSH FORTE crosses between mesmerizing vocals and concrete rhymes to express himself. Lyrically, the artist speaks about how he wants to put his woman at ease. But, like the title slightly suggests, she lives far away. Regardless of their long-distance relationship, he assures his lady that he’s always there. HUSH FORTE just hope she’s not overthinking everything. He delivers, 

“Can’t keep up with your thoughts/Everybody knows when they start flooding/You can never let it go.”

One minute in, he starts rapping. He details working hard in the booth to ascend his career. Subsequently, he wants to focus on his material. Yet, in the back of his mind is the woman who’s captivated his heart.

 Using a laid-back approach, he spits:

I’m all alone in this artist loft for 30 days/A&R’s give out their regards and early praise/Been tryna wrap up the album, tired of conversations.”

Deeper into the song, he concludes

“The sadness she feelin, guess I have to give it to God/I ask Him for healing.”

Then, he metaphorically teleports to her location. With their unity, they can work out whatever instance has his girl in distress. 

“Address the issues/Elephants in the room/Its a hell of a weight to hold/Tell her I miss her too/Her hotel looking way too cold.”

No matter what, he promises that it’ll be alright. Regardless of our societal status, HUSH FORTE concurs that we’re all human.

A composer, songwriting, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, HUSH FORTE cites genre-bending influences like Pharell, Andre 3000, Frank Ocean, and Kanye West.
