Today multiple sources reported that 9lokknine is now looking at more than seven years in federal prison. As XXL notes, according to court documents from December 15, the 21-year-old rapper, born Jacquavius Smith, will be spending the next 87 months—or seven and one-fourth years—in prison.
Undoubtedly, this situation is one of the times the number seven is not a sign of good luck.
9lokknine’s Charges
The Sentence is not exactly unexpected. Smith has a long rap sheet, and the piper always comes to collect its due. In this instance alone, 9lokkNine faced three charges according to essentialblackmedia.com, Possession of Unregistered Firearm, Aggravated Identity Theft, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg. The troubled rhymer, who has a history of arrests and gun charges, also faces five counts of attempted murder after firing a gun into an occupied home in July of last year. And he’s facing racketeering charges.
His criminal history is unbelievable. How much can one person do? Based on these reports, a lot.
9lokkNine’s Sentence Comes with a Plea Deal
Reports have it, Smith confessed to the crimes for which he received sentencing. However, he did not enter a confession without making a plea deal. As it noted,
“As part of 9lokknines’s plea deal, he’s been ordered to complete three years of supervised release and mandatory drug testing.”
Only the Beginning
Unfortunately, this is not the end of things. Smith stands to face trial for the racketeering charges on March 7, 2022. The way it is looking, it could be a long time before this artist sees the light of day again. But when one commits crimes, they must do time.
However, there is currently no response from the rapper on his current situation. But if or when 9lokknine has something to say, we’ll provide the coverage.
