On Monday the official poster was released. It shows Amy Winehouse with her styled eyebrows and lashes looking at the camera. Above, almost in a black abyss of where her signature beehive hairstyle might be never ending, it says the title, Amy, in a bold pink typeface.
The Amy Winehouse biopic, Amy, is out in July – and a second trailer has just been released which won’t fail to put a lump in your throat. In the trailer, we see Amy’s meteoric rise to success, with footage of the moment she won a Grammy. She embraces her mum and looks shocked.
She says: “The thing is, I don’t think I’m going to be at all famous. I’m not a girl trying to be a star. I’m just a girl that sings.” Amy died from alcohol poisoning in 2011 at the age of 27 and we still miss her terribly. The upcoming release has been controversial to say the very least – Amy’s dad, Mitch Winehouse, and Reg Travis, who she was engaged to when she died have slammed the film for “exploiting Amy’s talent”.
