on

André 3000 has undeniably caused quite a stir with the release of his latest project. The impact of his recent work is evident in the diverse range of opinions it has elicited, creating a buzz that extends beyond musical circles and into broader conversations. The artist has managed to captivate audiences and stimulate dialogue, making his latest release genuinely noteworthy.

André 3000’s Roots

André 3000, the artistic alias of André Benjamin, constitutes one-half of the innovative and dynamic duo Outkast. Outkast was pivotal in spotlighting the profound talent emanating from the South in the late 90s, releasing unforgettable hits like “Elevators” and “Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.”

André 3000’s Resurgence

Even though André 3000 has been relatively low-key recently, his return to the spotlight is igniting fervent discussions among fans. His latest endeavor, “New Blue Sun,” marks his inaugural solo venture. However, it’s not merely the comeback that generates buzz; it’s the distinctive nature of this creative output.

Unlike conventional projects, “New Blue Sun” deviates from the norm by being entirely instrumental, featuring André skillfully playing the flute and showcasing the vast spectrum of his extraordinary talent. Despite the surprise factor for many, André forewarns his audience. As reported by the Washington Post, even the project packaging explicitly states, “No Bars,” which clearly indicates the unconventional musical journey listeners are about to embark upon.

No Ordinary Artist

For those unfamiliar with André’s body of work, “Blue Sun” may come off as a bit shocking. But those familiar with the artist aren’t particularly surprised. Benjamin and Big Boi have built a reputation for their distinct and unique style. Such a release only fits a genuine artist driven by true inspiration.

As André articulates in an NPR interview, “My training was living. My direction was living. And what I mean by that is, as you said, I’ve been kind of preparing you to always be expecting the unexpected from me.”

The Inspired Inspires

While some may perceive “New Blue Sun” as peculiar or eccentric, opinions vary. However, there’s nothing more impactful than one artist’s inspirational work igniting ambition in another highly respected artist. Among those influenced is RZA, a  member and founder of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.

According to RZA, who shared his sentiments with a TMZ correspondent, “New Blue Sun” is on constant replay in his home, creating a Zen atmosphere for him and his significant other. In fact, RZA praised André’s work and revealed his intentions to release his own instrumental project.

“New Blue Sun,” A Pure Work Of Art

At its essence, art is a subjective experience shaped by the distinctive perspectives each observer brings to the interpretation. This essence is precisely what “Blue Sun” provides for its listeners. So, fundamentally, the worth of a piece transcends any singular person’s interpretation. Its true significance lies in the artist’s connection to their creation. And thus, what’s even more remarkable is André Benjamin’s relationship with his artistic expression.

André 3000’s Relation To His Art

Benjamin’s contentment cannot be overstated, as it undergirds this piece’s magical resonance. In André’s words :

“As an artist, you must have finely tuned antennas. That’s the core of it. And [they’re] essentially observing a magic show. It’s not anything exceptional. I’m not singular. Everyone has their own form of magic show.”And this is Benjamin’s [magical display], a piece that resonates with beauty.

FMHipHop, alongside numerous others, applauds Benjamin for his remarkable contribution. And may he persist in sharing his magic in any form he chooses.
