Ari Lennox Releases New Single “If You Want Me To Stay”

In 2019, Ari Lennox released a debut album titled Shea Butter Baby which hit number 11 on the Billboard charts on August 3, 2019. In addition to her last album raising the charts earlier in July 2020, she also featured on Dreamville’s “Buss It“ single.

Lennox also partnered with “Crown Royal” which is the Canadian Whiskey brand. Proceeds from the streaming of the new single go towards various clubs, bars, and stages. Lenox took to Instagram to announce, “heyy honey cakes. I’m excited to share that I’ve teamed up with @CrownRoyal and @anthonyramosofficial to reimagine the iconic song, “If You Want Me To Stay,” to help save our bars, clubs, and stages affected by the pandemic. ”

Anthony Ramos, actor and musician, is featured on the “If You Want Me To Stay” duet. He is most known for his popular role “Mars Blackmon” on the Netflix series “She’s Gotta Have It”.

“Our remake of “If You Want Me To Stay” is available now wherever you listen to music!” said Anthony Ramos via Instagram. The song is a sample of Sly & The Family Stone’s, a psychedelic soulful band from San Francisco, “If You Want Me To Stay” off of the album Fresh released in 1973.
