A$AP Rocky Went In Jail And Paid $550k Bail Due To A Complaint

LAPD arrested A$AP Rocky at Los Angeles International Airport. The artist and his 3rd-trimester pregnant girlfriend Rihanna were returning from the Barbados trip on a private jet.

Supposedly, Rocky went to jail in connection with Nov 2021 shooting occurring in the Hollywood area. The complainer claimed that A$AP shot and injured the defendant’s left hand. Later on, the artist had to pay a $550k bail. The law enforcement also conducted a search of Rocky’s Los Angeles residence.

It’s unclear whether the Los Angeles Police Department obtained any evidence of the shooting, apart from the victim’s complaint. LAPD HQ’s Twitter statement claims that “detectives worked diligently to investigate and corroborate the reporting information.”

However, in the same statement, “anyone with information” is encouraged to “contact Robbery-Homicide Division Detectives” or leave an anonymous tip.

A$AP Rocky’s Arrest In Sweden

A somewhat similar situation occurred with A$AP Rocky in the Summer of 2019. At the time, Rocky was in Sweden and on his European tour. While walking around Stockholm, a group of unfriendly people approached the artist and his companions. A small fight took place after A$AP and others tried to defend themselves from the locals.

Four days later, on July 3, the Swedish law enforcement arrested Rocky. He faced assault charges on Aug 14. However, he met them from the United States after pleading not guilty to Stockholm’s police assault charge. On Aug 2, the Swedish authorities released Rocky and allowed him to return home.

Rocky’s jail conditions were also far from great. “For a month, he was…confined to a single-person cell for 23 and a half hours a day,” GQ reports from Rocky’s words. “He found it hard to sleep. During the high summer in Stockholm, the sun is out for about 18 hours a day. For the other six, dusk melts into dawn.”

It’s unclear if Hollywood’s shooting was based on similar self-defense motives or whether it took place. However, will be monitoring the case and informing you of the freshest updates.
