Her 2002 self-titled debut album “Ashanti” featured hits like “Foolish” and “Baby.” The album went triple platinum and earned her a Grammy. The First Lady of Murda Inc. definitely understood the assignment. Fans are excited to hear about the singer owning her masters. Writers credited on the album include the late New York rapper Big Pun, El Debarge, Bunny Debarge, and Diddy, to name a few. However, no word on which heavy hitters will feature on the revised album, but we are sure we won’t be disappointed. On Tamron Hall show, Ashanti expresses,

“It’s so surreal. I have an amazing legal team… The fact that I’ll be able to re-record my first album and put everything together.”

What’s next?

Ashanti sat down with Today to discuss her role in the film Honey Girls and performing again. Excited, Ashanti expressed commonalities between herself and her “Fancy G” role. In the interview, she shares how she is appreciative of her success more than ever.

The singer has made several appearances on tour and social media, giving fans grace and unbothered. Coupled with her appearance on “Verzuz.” she sang back-to-back hits alongside Ja Rule and Fat Joe. Most recently, Ashanti graced us with her voice featured on Moneybagg Yo’s “Wockesha” remix.
