Asian Doll Tells Taraji P. Henson About King Von’s Death
The Chicago rapper King Von was murdered outside of an Atlanta club after a dispute with another rapper. In Peace of Mind With Taraji, Asian Doll opens up to Henson about the death of her ex-boyfriend. Asian Doll explains that when she first heard of the loss, her “whole world just crashed.”
“I had never felt a feeling like that,” she says. “It’s like I was just broken.” She also explains that a few days before his murder, her and King Von weren’t on the best of terms. They had just broken up and she was “trying not to see him.” Calling him her soulmate, Doll says, “It was more like a soulmate. It’s like dang I met you before, like how I feel so connected to you?”
Taraji was understandably empathetic towards Asian Doll as her experience is a similar one. Back in 2003, she lost the father to her children to murder as well. In an attempt to be comforting, she tells Asian Doll “It is ok to feel. You loved that man and he died suddenly”
