On January 3, Doll was invited to the podcast as a guest. However, things swiftly grew tense between herself and the show’s co-host Myron Gaines (aka “Fit”). The next day, a clip from the interview began floating around social media. In the snippet, Gaines appears upset that Doll was having a conversation with another guest while somebody was talking.
Gaines had warned Doll multiple times to stop having another conversation, before eventually telling her to leave. He also talked down to her.”I don’t even know who she is,” he claimed after reading a comment. A guest on the show responded, “That’s King Von’s girl. You don’t know who Queen Von is?” To which Gaines replied, “I know who King Von is. I don’t have to know who his girl is.”
On January 4, Asian Doll had told her side of the story through Twitter.
I was so calm yesterday cause I knew what he was tryna do.. Mr. Freddy cougar was Finna get beat down elm street off camera I’m thankful for the growth & self control & im happy I defended another black woman cause he was treating her sooooo bad ugh !
When a fan complimented Doll for keeping her cool during the podcast, she responded, “Yeah it’s 2022 we ain’t doing allat,” along with plenty of tears of joy and weary face emojis. Doll clearly just didn’t have the time for Gaines’ comments.
In podcasting, it’s generally considered disrespectful to have a sidebar conversation in a podcast; It distracts from the main conversation. As Doll had a side conversation with the mics still on, Gaines had every right to drop her. But he should have explained why he became so upset with her. Instead, he just said that it was “one of the rules” and did not elaborate further. This, alongside snarky comments surrounding King Von, resulted in him coming off mean and disrespectful to Doll. All in all, the cause of the problem was inappropriate communication, leaving each thinking it was the other’s fault.
