Behind Meek Mill’s “Expensive Pain” and Drug Abuse

Meek Mill has released his album Expensive Pain, and everyone is talking about it. This album allowed him to express his pain through music and showcase his creativity. The track list includes the appearances of Kehlani, A$AP Ferg, Moneybagg Yo, and much more.

A Look at Expensive Pain

Expensive Pain is his fifth studio album that includes a list of 18 pieces. The 34-year-old Philadelphia rapper took the time to create an album that showcased many complex emotions and life struggles.

Furthermore, the rapper knows what vibe and taste he wants to perform for his masterpiece and what artist to put on the track. The artists on his track album include Kehlani, A$AP Ferg, Moneybagg Yo, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and much more.

The album has various topics, ranging from hate, mental health, justice, chasing dreams, and more. Mill allowed himself to completely express his pain and let his listeners hear him being vulnerable. In an interview with Apple Music, the rapper expresses his frustration by saying, “I don’t feel like I get the credit I deserve” that is to say, he has the talent level and has been in the game for a long time. He believes he has the qualities of being worthy because of how much work he put into his work.

Moreover, Expensive Pain was not going to go unnoticed for the work he put into it. He had the cover art plastered across boats in Miami, billboards in Times Square, and the side of trains in Atlanta.  Mill took advantage of his influence marketing strategy by making brand awareness and increasing traffic to his new album.

Mill’s Drug Abuse

Meek Mill is a former opioid user who wants nothing to do with the pill anymore because of life-threatening risks. While chasing the high, he did not get to deal with reality or mourn the loss of his friend Lil’ Snupe. In a song tittle “Angels ( RIP Lil’ Snupe)”, Mill paid tribute to honor him.

Meanwhile, after Mill was off probation, he got into smoking weed and drinking again. Weed is not something he likes because it makes him feel paranoid, but it allowed him to produce his new album. The album includes new beats, different flows, melodies, and a rapper expressing himself.
