Benny the Butcher has recently released his newest album, Tana Talk 4. He is trying to up sales by making up stories about the production. He also claims that Freddie Gibbs begged to be on the album. Gibbs called him out on the lie.

On Mar. 27, Benny tweeted that Gibbs begged to be on Tana Talk 4. On the same day, Gibbs responded on Instagram, saying that this was just a marketing strategy. He also said that Benny should feel blessed to even open for him and that he would never beg to work with someone that does not do as much work as him.

The beef between the two originate from last year. They were working on a joint album and were about to go on tour. However, Gibbs tweeted out “N*ggaz don’t put the cities they get robbed in on the tour dates,” referencing the time that he was shot in Houston in 2020.

Their beef reemerged recently in late 2021. There was a rumor that someone had punched Gibbs in the face, and when Benny learned of this, he responded with laughing emojis. The most recent mention of Gibbs before this was when Benny was in an interview with Ebro. He was asked if the album that he was working with Gibbs on is ever going to be released. The answer to which was probably never.

They have released a song together in the past once, “Frank Lucas,” but they also had The Alchemist to balance them out. It turns out that he was the secret ingredient to getting them working together.
