Allhiphop recently interviewed Benzino about 50 Cent‘s trolling. He thinks the NYC rapper, actor and businessman has an insecurity issue.
The most recent thing that 50 Cent had done to Benzino was insinuate that he was sleeping with the transgender actress Shauna Brooks. That put him into hot water with the trans community, so 50 Cent later deleted the tweets.
50 also offered Benzino’s daughter, Coi Leray, a role for an upcoming tv show. This had caused him Benzino be upset at both of them, prompting him to call 50 Cent a rat, saying that he crossed a line. He added that his daughter’s disloyalty will lead to her downfall.
50 Cent is a classic old school internet troll, which is why he messes with Benzino. It seems easy to get a rise out of him, so Benzino thinks its because of an insecurity issue.
Old School vs. Modern Trolls
The difference between modern internet trolls and old school trolls is how far they are willing to take it. Modern trolls are basically bullies that use the internet to harass their victims 24/7. They run right across the line as fast as possible and continue running. Old school trolls, meanwhile, do have a limiter, and know where the line is. They step up to the line, but do not cross it. They tip toe around this line to say something bigger about society. The most recent example is when 50 Cent trolled Madonna’s racy photos that she posted to Instagram. He made a comment, saying Madonna is too old to be acting sexy anymore and that she needs to find a new way to gain fans.
Old School trolls also have to pick their words really carefully, or else it might backfire and it sounds like they are agreeing with what they are talking against. That is the case with Shauna Brooks. 50’s trolling accidentally sounded homophobic and Benzino threw that into his face by talking about how homosexually charged 50 Cent’s tv show “Power: Book II” is, using the exact same wording. 50 Cent has since deleted his Instagram posts.
