BET has been keeping legendary labels alive through docuseries.
The program is set to air ‘Ruff Ryders chronicles’, a 5-part Docuseries about Ruff Ryder Records, on Wednesday.
The series has built more anticipation this week following the release of ‘No Limit Chronicles’, a series about No Limit Records founded by rap mogul Master P.
What is Ruff Ryders?
Ruff Ryder Records was founded in 1997 by Joaquin “Waah” Dean and Darin “Dee” Dean in 1997. The Duo successfully brought the iconic rough edge to the forefront of hip hop in the late ’90s.
The label is responsible for the careers of The Lox, Eve, Swizz Beatz and many more.
Arguably, one of their most notable artists is DMX. ‘Ruff Ryders Anthem’ was recorded by DMX and released in 1998.
What to expect from the series?
The series will feature exclusive interviews from artists such as Swizz Beatz, The Lox, Eve, DMX, and more. The series will also detail the rise of the labels’ 25-year reign. “We’ve set trends…trailblazed’, DMX said in the trailer for the series.
You can catch episode one of ‘Ruff Ryder Chronicles’ on Wednesday, August 12th at 10/9c.
