Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé’s management and entertainment company, in association with Disney+, will be releasing “Black is King” globally on July 31, 2020.

In fact, this visual album arrives right after the one-year anniversary of the movie, “The Lion King” featuring Knowles-Carter, Childish Gambino, etc.
According to the press release, Beyoncé “reimagines the lessons of “The Lion King” for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns.”
The visual album is centered around the journey of a young king who goes through phases of love and betrayal that leads to his self-identity.
“Black is King” the film “is a story for the ages that informs and rebuilds the present. A reunion of cultures and shared generational beliefs. A story of how the people left most broken have an extraordinary gift and a purposeful future.”
Also, this announcement comes on the heels of Beyoncé being awarded with the 2020 BET Humanitarian Award and her surprise release of the song and initiative, “Black Parade”.
