Big Sean Visit His Alma Mater and Donate State-of-the-Art Recording Studio
Detroit native Big Sean gave back to his alma mater, Cass Technical High School, by opening up a recording studio for the students. The state-of-the-art recording studio, which was created in collaboration with Adidas, was built because Sean promised it to the school’s junior class if they succeeded in raising its ACT scores. The 784-square-foot facility is named ‘Sean Anderson Studio of Infinite Possibilites’ which will be used in part of the school’s music curriculum.
Junior student Coda Boyce said:
“I think it’s so good to have somebody like Big Sean come back to the school where he came from, especially a city like Detroit, because everybody is like, ‘well, Detroit is down, nobody really pays any attention,’ but we’re really a rising city,” Boyce said. “It’s good to see famous people come back to the city and give back.”
Cass Technical High School principal, Lisa Phillips, said that once they get a handle on the studio, any student in the Detroit Public School system will be able to make use of the high tech facility.
