Black Panther: Wakanda Forever In Production

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is in production. Pinewood Studios in Atlanta has begun filming the sequel to the Academy-nominated Marvel film. First, the film’s director, Ryan Cooglar, has returned to the helm once again — with most of the cast. After a long battle with colon cancer, Chadwick Boseman lost his life in August 2020. In conclusion, Marvel will not recast his role.

Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba and Angela Bassett will return for the sequel film.

Remembering The First Film

Black Panther became a sensational hit when it came to the theaters in 2018. Gaining 1.34 billion dollars worldwide, it distinguished itself as the highest-rated Marvel film that did not focus on the Avengers.  It earned seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture (making it the first superhero movie ever recognized in that category) and Best Original Song, performed by Kendrick Lamar. The film won Oscars for its score, costume design and production design.

Kevin Fiege told Variety at a party for the up-and-coming Black Widow film that, “Everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”

When To Expect In The Sequel

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be released in theaters next summer.
