In Atlanta, a federal jury awarded Cardi B with roughly 4 million dollars after the defamation for which she was accused.
Latasha Kebe, also knows as Tasha K, is a blogger, and producer of her youtube channel called unWinewhileTashaK. Kebe is now liable for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress against the rapper.
According to the verdict handed on Monday, the jury found Kebe guilty of two charges of defamation and one count of invasion of privacy.
The jury awarded Cardi 1 million in damages for pain and suffering for defamation, $250,000 in medical expenses. and another $2.8 million the following day.
The controversy of 2018
The blogger’s harassment of Cardi started prior to early 2018, when Kebe made strong statements against Cardi.
On September 19 of the same year, Kebe posted a video on her YouTube channel an interview she did with a woman who claimed was friend of Cardi B. During the interview, the woman said Cardi B was a prostitute, had herpes and used cocaine.

March 2019 marked the beginning of Cardi B’s lawsuit against Tasha K.
Cardi B also sued Starmarie Ebony Jones, the same guest in the video where she claims she was a ex-friend of Cardi’s. However, Jones was not included in the verdict, as she moved to New York long before the lawsuit began.
Shortly after the video was published, Cardi B’s lawyers sent a letter to the blogger demanding her immediate withdrawal. However, shortly after, Kebe posted another video in which he assured the veracity of the video. During that same video, she also claimed that Cardi was unfaithful to her husband, the lawsuit says.
Kebe said in a court filing to the lawsuit that on September 19, 2018, after she posted the video. Cardi B contacted her via direct message on Instagram where she expressed her discontent with the video.
The YouTuber replied that she preferred to discuss the issue on her YouTube channel. A request Cardi B refused.
Cardi B shared her anger on Instagram. The rapper criticizing the YouTuber publicly claiming she constantly stalks her, and always made up fake stories about her.
After the Cardi’s Instagram stories, Kebe received a lot of negative criticism on social media. Constantly receiving threats on Instagram and anonymous harassing phone calls.
The most crucial moment occurred when Kebe’s home address went public, so she decided to take more drastic measures by contacting the FBI, who advised her to move to a different city in another county, as well as to change her phone number.
The Counterclaim of Tasha K
Kebe filed a countersuit against Cardi B for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, as he accused her of encouraging her fans to harass her.
